On Set

So Sunday's shoot went rather well while shooting our short story for our on-going "Internet Guide" series, this one about debit cards.

We were fortunate enough to shoot at the Comic City store in Waterford and I must say that I was very excited to do so! Considering this was another comedy, the color scheme and setting at Comic City fit the story perfectly. Bright colors and soft fluorescent lighting, supllemented by my lighting of course, made the shoot go very smoothly.

Although the lighting was actually sort of bright inside, I really needed to supplement it with more power. The overhead lights were flourescent but I chose to add a lot of tingsten sources for front and back, simulating some sunshine, but just a bit. I did however supplemet the fill light with a bank of three flourescent bulbs built horizontally.

We really wanted to use our RedRock 35mm adapter but unfortunately we wer losing a lot of light at the edges (which is an issue with the early models) and we weren't getting a wide enough view so we had to scrap that right off the bat.

However I stuck with my usual softening filter on the lens and opted for a bright feel with accentuated highlights, I like it.

I'll stop there but if anyone wants me to expand on my process let me know and I will.
